How to get your recommendations, and keep them

Your doctor used DropRecs™ to write your visit recommendations ("recs") in plain language. You get them before you leave the exam room, as a PDF that is yours to keep.

How your doctor sends them

  1. AirDrop (iPhone)

Your doctor AirDrops the PDF, and a link to the same visit, to your iPhone. Tap Accept. The PDF opens, and your copy is also in the Files app → Downloads.

  2. QR code (any phone)

Your doctor shows a QR code. Point your phone's camera at it and tap the link that appears. Your recs open in your web browser. Tap Save my recommendations.

  3. Text message (any phone)

Your doctor texts you a link. Tap it, then tap Save my recommendations.

MyDropRecs: every visit in one place

MyDropRecs is the free iPhone app for your recs: every visit in one place, a checklist, and follow-ups you can add to your calendar. When a visit arrives in MyDropRecs it is saved for you — you'll see ✓ Saved to MyDropRecs. There is no separate save step.

MyDropRecs is in testing and coming soon to the App Store. Until then, everything you need is in the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

I can't find the PDF my doctor AirDropped.
Open the Files app → Browse → Downloads (under On My iPhone or iCloud Drive). The file is called something like DropRecs-A-2026-10-03.pdf. You can also look in Files → Recents, or swipe down on the home screen and search for "DropRecs".
The link says it has expired.
To keep your information private, a visit link stops working soon after it's saved, an hour after it's opened, or after 24 hours if it's never opened. If you saved a copy, it's still on your phone. If not, ask your doctor's office to send your recommendations again.
I didn't get the AirDrop.
Turn on AirDrop: open Settings → General → AirDrop and pick Everyone for 10 Minutes. Then ask your doctor to send it again — or to show you the QR code instead.
I have an Android phone.
AirDrop only works between Apple devices. Ask your doctor for the QR code or a text message. The link opens in your browser, where you can save or print the PDF.
Can I share it with my family?
Yes. Open the PDF, tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up), and send it by AirDrop, Messages or Mail.
Is my health information sent to any servers?
Your doctor's recommendations, organized into plain language with AI and reviewed by your doctor before you receive them. Audio never leaves your doctor's iPhone. The AI runs on a HIPAA-eligible cloud provider under a signed Business Associate Agreement. If shared by link, the PDF is deleted soon after you save it, and within 24 hours at most. An AirDropped PDF goes straight from your doctor's iPhone to yours. See our Privacy Policy for the full story.
How do I delete my copy?
In the Files app, find the PDF, then swipe left on it and tap Delete. In MyDropRecs, open the visit and tap Delete.
